Why Not Just Be Kind?

I hear that the R-word is making a comeback and fights over "political correctness" or "woke-talk" are dominating certain feeds.

I have an easy answer.

JUST BE KIND.

Whether you think a word is an insult, slur, or any form of -ism or not, if someone says it makes them feel bad, stop saying it. Think about playground rules. If you choose not to, you are being unkind.

How does it hurt you to not say a word?

If I say to you, it hurts me to call me "stupid" and you call me "stupid", we all agree that's mean. Why do we politicize other words?

Be kind. 

It's that simple.

Just remember. One day, it may be you, your child. Your feelings, their feelings.
