When a Fan Becomes a Friend

One of the greatest gifts blogging turned "influencer" turned "content creator" turned blogger again (say that five times fast) is finding a friend in the oddest way. A few summers ago, I started a daily live on Instagram. There among the stream of profile pictures was one I didn't know. Trust me when I tell you this was new in the early days. He introduced himself after a couple of views as oe who knew me from my 1990s Anime English dub days.
Insert record scratch here. What???
I don't have fans. Well, evidently I have one.
Over the course of my "lives" that Dan became my most consistent attendee other than my mom, we became friendly and starting following each other over social media. So, when I started "the pebble" show, I invited him to be an early guest. He has returned several times but we found we enjoyed talking so much that we zoomed and talked without recording.
So, we became friends. True friends.
I truly believe God brings together people in unique ways. I am positive God brought Dan into my life and I am thankful!
I love making videos with him and this one is no exception.
I am talking to my favorite Scouse, Daniel Findlay-Bedfield, about how thrifting, film, and yes, even being a fan, can create true joy in one's life.
In the past three months, his life has been a whirlwind! He met Andrew Scott, "the dreamiest man ever, and it was totally surreal".
He made some amazing new friends who are just as obsessed with him as I am. (Who could blame them?) We talk all the time and share all our fangirl moments. It's like having a whole support system.
He's been exploring all the places in South London where "All of the Strangers" was filmed. It's like living in my own little movie set. I even found a charity shop that sells the cutest vintage clothes. I'm obsessed! (I want to make a trip across the pond and we are totally taking this tour together.)
And of course, he's been keeping up with all of Andrew Scott's projects. He saw "Present Laughter" on stage and it was incredible. He's so glad I got to experience it.
Overall, I am so glad he shared these past few months with me. It seemed that they have been the best ever.
