woman dressed in workout clothing, my journey to strong

My Journey to My Strong

I used to be strong. 5'4" 102 lbs yoga-strong, but strong. I could walk all over San Francisco's hills with hardly a gasp. I felt "in" my body. It belonged to me.

Those days seem very far away.

In the 25 years since leaving the city by the bay, I have had two children, been diagnosed with a life-altering neurological disorder, my husband has gone to war, had a few other auto-immune and neurologic diagnosis... you know life.

Along the way, I lost "My" strong

While to most outsiders, I don't look much different, my body has changed dramatically over the years. Muscle tone disappeared. After developing autoimmune based thyroiditis, weight was gained where it has never been gained before. I have fatigue. Strong fatigue that comes out of nowhere. All around my body has felt like I belong it more than the other way around.

But no more.

After one of the worst years of my life, I am taking back control. Control of my life. Control of my body. Fortunately, I have been offered a unique opportunity to try Pilates classes and I am all in.

On my way to My Strong

I am being provided three months of classes in exchange for an honest reflection of my Journey.
All opinions are my own. It is my Universe, after all.

Club Pilates Wiliamsville is providing me with three months of classes so I may share honest journey - the highs and lows. I hope you will follow along. Let me know what you would like to know, questions you have etc. Everyone knows journeys are more fun with friends.

Along the way, I will be sharing my Car Confessions which will be my right out the door reaction from class. So there you go.

Get in losers, we're going to go shopping... get strong.

P. S. Shopping is always a good idea, just after class!
