Friday Fragments #33 -- Mardi Gras and Rainforests and RVs, Oh My!

Put another week into the history books. It's time to frag...

It's Friday, and it's been a big week! We began with the Galveston Mardi Gras Children's Parade. It was a new and fun experience for our family. Little Diva got a leg up literally for a better view. Daddies are awesome that way. Ice Cream at LaKings might have happened, as well. Sonny-Bunny started out his normal "I don't want to do that" Tween Boy self until he wasn't. All of a sudden, those beads seem really cool. Being a tween is such a funny thing -- one minute he is way "grown-up" and the next minute he wants to cuddle and watch a Disney movie with me. He keeps my head spinning, but I wouldn't have it any other way.

Tuesday Adventure: Exploring the Rainforest at Moody Gardens

Tuesday, we went to Moody Gardens and ventured into the Rainforest. As you can see, it's pretty gorgeous! To create the rainforest, the pyramid is set to the 80s and 92% humidity. Well, we are having weird weather here in Texas, swinging between a normal winter in the 40s-50s to a high today of 79. It has made dressing the kids a challenge. This day, it was actually chill,y and we all had coats. You can imagine that we were stripping off coats, but not super cool Sonny-Bunny. Evidently, being too cool for school also means being too cool to get hot in the rainforest. As my daughter often runs around in just a sundress when it is cold, we decided that the two are like the characters, Snow Miser and Heat Miser, in the Rankin/Bass special "The Year Without a Santa Claus". One loves hot, and one loves the cold.

RV Dreams: Checking Out the Houston RV Show

The next day, we explored the Houston RV Show. The kids were ready to take a few out for a test drive! While we have taken a few months off the road and are trying to find a place to put down roots, we still enjoy checking out the possibilities. After a year and a half as our full-time home, we know what works and what DOESN'T in a trailer. There are things out there that amaze. We even saw a $400K RV. Wow, just wow!

Wrapping Up the Week: Grateful, Tired, and Confuzzled

So, big week obviously. Still struggling with some health issues, as per usual, but I keep trying. That's what we all have to do, right? I am thankful to my family for perpetually keeping me inspired to try more and keep adventuring.

I'll leave you with my daughter's latest contribution to the English language -- "confuzzled" as in "I am totally confuzzled right now". I feel that way most days...
